FUNCMATIX was founded by Dr. Ralph Paetzold, a technology entrepreneur, physicist and materials scientist with more than two decades of experience in advanced materials, printed electronics, additive manufacturing and industrial innovation.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Paetzold has been actively involved in the development, industrialization and commercialization of emerging technologies in fields including:

• printed electronics
• OLED and OPV technologies
• functional materials
• industrialization
• advanced manufacturing systems

He has held leadership and management positions in several technology-driven companies and innovation projects, ranging from early-stage technology development to industrial market introduction. He is inventor or co-inventor of more than 50 patents across multiple technological fields and has contributed to more than 30 scientific and technical publications related to materials science, manufacturing technologies and applied industrial innovation.
